About The Position

PSG/CIP is seeking a part-time, leading into full-time, mental health therapist for their School-Based programs within the Burlington Area School District. This role involves providing intervention services directly in schools, including individual and group therapy, education and consultation for school personnel, and family therapy as needed. The organization is a multi-service community-based social services organization dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve their greatest potential through dynamic, cost-effective, and innovative programming. Candidates should have an interest in serving students K-12 in a school setting. Experience working with schools, understanding family systems, and knowledge of the effects and treatment of emotional trauma in children and teens are preferred.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • Licensure to provide mental health therapy in the State of Wisconsin (LPC, LPC-IT, APSW, or LCSW) or be eligible to obtain one.
  • All applicants must possess a Master's Degree and licensure to provide mental health therapy in the State of Wisconsin; LPC, LPC-IT, APSW, or LCSW or be eligible to obtain one.
  • Pre-licensed therapists are also welcome to apply, and supervision is provided as part of the work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and complete formal assessments.
  • Create and review client treatment plans and provide psychotherapy in accordance with the treatment plans.
  • Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill in addressing family system, mental health, parenting, and alcohol/drug issues through individual, family, or group counseling.
  • Organize and facilitate structured group, individual and/or family activities.
  • Provide consultation to the child's school and school personnel as needed.
  • Coordinate services and maintain communication with all service providers involved with the clients.
