About The Position

PSG/CIP is seeking a part-time, leading into full-time, mental health therapist for the Burlington Area School District. This role involves providing intervention services directly within school settings, including individual and group therapy, education/consultation for school personnel, and family therapy. The organization is a community-based social services provider focused on helping individuals and families reach their potential through innovative programming. Candidates should have an interest in serving K-12 students and experience working with schools, family systems, and addressing emotional trauma in children and teens is preferred.

Requirements

Master's Degree
Licensure to provide mental health therapy in the State of Wisconsin; LPC, LPC-IT, APSW, or LCSW or be eligible to obtain one.
Pre-licensed therapists are also welcome to apply, and supervision is provided.

Nice To Haves

Interest in providing services to students K-12 in a school setting.
Experience working with schools.
Understanding of family systems.
Understanding of the effects and treatment of children and teens who have suffered emotional trauma.

Responsibilities

Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and complete formal assessments.
Create and review client treatment plans and provide psychotherapy in accordance with the treatment plans.
Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
Demonstrate knowledge and skill in addressing family system, mental health, parenting, and alcohol/drug issues through individual, family, or group counseling.
Organize and facilitate structured group, individual and/or family activities.
Provide consultation to the child's school and school personnel as needed.
Coordinate services and maintain communication with all service providers involved with the clients.
