School-Based Prevention Clinicians partner with school staff, families, and students to provide clinical services aimed at preventing mental illness or substance use disorders, reducing emotional/behavioral symptoms affecting school functioning, and building resiliency. Clinical services include individual, group, and whole classroom prevention, early intervention, student/family/staff education, crisis intervention, referrals to community services, and collaboration to support student social/emotional/academic wellbeing. Positions are available at elementary, middle, and high school levels. Summer opportunities include running prevention groups and providing short-term therapy.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Active Ohio Social Work, Professional Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist License (LISW, LPCC, IMFT preferred; LSW, LPC, or MFT with experience).
  • Clinical mental health experience working with school-aged children/teens.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in schools is preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with school staff, families, and students to provide clinical services.
  • Prevent the onset of mental illness or substance use disorders.
  • Reduce emotional/behavioral symptoms that affect school functioning.
  • Build resiliency in students.
  • Provide individual, group, and whole classroom prevention services.
  • Offer early intervention services.
  • Conduct student/family/staff education.
  • Perform crisis intervention.
  • Make referrals to community services.
  • Collaborate to support student social/emotional/academic wellbeing.
  • Run prevention groups during the summer.
  • Provide short-term therapy during the summer.
