This role involves providing care to developmentally disabled students to promote emotional and social growth. The Physical Therapist will evaluate students to identify developmental deviations and any postural or skeletal challenges. They will review written or verbal information concerning students to determine the need for Physical Therapy services and perform ongoing individualized, detailed, and documented assessments of students known or suspected of having disability conditions, utilizing evaluative tools and skills unique to physical therapists. The role also includes participating in the evaluation process to aid in establishing diagnosis, prognosis, goals, placement, and treatment plans, as well as reviewing and implementing each student's IEP goals and objectives. The therapist will plan and prepare written treatment programs for each student.
