About The Position

Liberty Resources is seeking a School Based Mental Health Therapist for Hasings Mallory Elementary School. The therapist provides assessments and psychotherapy to students and families in school and home environments. The role works with school staff, families, and other health care and behavioral health providers to support students’ success. The position follows a 10-month school-year salary schedule, with per diem rates for 10 weeks of summer work. Modified summer hours are offered with a reduced workload.

Requirements

• Be flexible and oriented toward family work.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Have computer skills and the ability to use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) effectively.
• Have a valid New York State driver’s license and access to reliable transportation when required.

Nice To Haves

• LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, or LMHC credential preferred; clinicians with a permit and clinical internship experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments, gathering information from parents, children, and other relevant sources.
• Provide individual and family therapy in school and home environments.
• Use diagnostic and assessment information to develop treatment plans.
• Utilize evidence-based practices.
• Participate actively on the School Intervention Team and partner with school staff and teachers to support students’ success in the school setting.
• Collaborate with trained health care and behavioral health providers.
