This is a 10-month permanent position within the School Based Mental Health (SBMH) Program, a partnership between Polk County and local school districts. Staff are placed in schools to address barriers to student success, regardless of insurance or ability to pay. The SBMH Therapist provides short-term, evidence-based services including individual and group skill-building, emotional support, crisis intervention, and suicide assessments. They consult with families and school staff, connect students and families to community resources, and may conduct classroom presentations on various topics. Staff also assist with referring students to more intensive therapeutic services as needed.
