About The Position

Health Connect America is seeking a School-Based Behavioral Health Therapist to provide evidence-based behavioral health services to young children (ages 3-5) in early childhood education settings. The role focuses on helping children develop emotional, social, and behavioral skills, partnering with families and educators to achieve positive outcomes. The position is school-based and community-focused in Spartanburg, South Carolina, serving preschool-aged students. Services are provided year-round to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
• License as a LMSW, LMFT-A, LPC-A, LISW-CP, LMFT, or LPC in the state of SC.
• Minimum of one year experience working with children and/or families (may include internships).
• Knowledge of child and adolescent development, family systems, and evidence-based behavioral health treatment approaches.
• Experience providing individual, family, and group therapy services.
• Strong crisis intervention, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and manage a clinical caseload effectively.
• Understanding of HIPAA, Medicaid documentation requirements, and ethical clinical practice.
• Valid driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation for travel between service locations.

• Experience providing services in school-based or community-based settings.
• Experience working with children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or other special needs populations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for children ages 3-5.
• Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based, play-based, and developmentally appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, educators, special education staff, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support children with developmental disabilities, special needs, and behavioral health challenges.
• Coordinate care with families, healthcare providers, schools, and community partners.
• Connect families to resources and supports.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
• Provide crisis intervention, consultation, and ongoing progress monitoring.
