About The Position

The School-Based Behavioral Health Supervisor (SBBHS) is a member of the Integrated Behavioral Health Department and provides direct clinical services as well as clinical and administrative supervision to School-Based Behavioral Health Clinicians embedded within School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs) and partnered school districts. This position is approximately 80% direct patient care and 20% clinical supervision and administrative responsibilities. Most of the Supervisor’s time is spent providing direct behavioral health services to students, with the remaining time dedicated to clinical supervision, administrative oversight, program coordination, and support of school-based behavioral health staff. The SBBHS supports the delivery of integrated, trauma informed behavioral health services to students with a focus on early identification, prevention, intervention, crisis response, and continuity of care for youth with complex behavioral health, social-emotional, and psychosocial needs. The Supervisor collaborates closely with SBHC leadership, Integrated Behavioral Health leaders, school administrators, educators, families, primary care providers, and community partners to ensure high-quality, developmentally appropriate care within school environments.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of methods of behavioral medicine and evidence-based treatments for medical, mental and behavioral health conditions.
  • Thorough knowledge of use of common office equipment (copier, fax, printer).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a school-based health care team member.
  • Use of personal vehicle or other transportation is required for travel to multiple locations within Washington and Yamhill counties.

  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize and schedule daily activities for the most efficient use of time.

  • Knowledge and experience in working with computer systems and electronic medical records.
  • Knowledge and experience working within Epic as the electronic medical record.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Knowledge of youth and adolescent learning and behavior change principles.
  • Knowledge of community-based resources.
  • Demonstrated skills in motivational and health coaching, patient advocacy, health promotion, disease prevention, patient education, and resource management.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Psychology, or related field required.
  • Licensure (LCSW, LPC, etc.) and ability to supervise associates working towards licensure required.
  • Commensurate with educational preparation, demonstrates the ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs.
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural, diverse environment.
  • BLS required.
  • A valid state driver’s license, transportation, and auto insurance is required or alternative means of transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in school-based health center preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred.
  • 2 years’ experience in supervision of interns, students, and social service staff preferred.
  • Experience in facilitating and consulting with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in providing supervision for behavioral and social service staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct behavioral health services to students, including assessment, diagnosis, counseling, and treatment planning within the scope of licensure.
  • Deliver evidence-based, developmentally appropriate, and school-aligned behavioral health interventions.
  • Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and coordination of care for students presenting with acute or complex behavioral health needs.
  • Collaborate with families, SBHC staff, educators, and community partners to support continuity of care and treatment goals.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care team meetings and school-based case conferences.
  • Provide individual and group clinical supervision to School-Based Behavioral Health Clinicians and interns in accordance with licensure, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Review and co-sign clinical documentation to ensure quality, compliance, and adherence to clinical best practices.
  • Offer case consultation and clinical guidance for complex student presentations.
  • Provide administrative supervision, including timesheet review and approval, annual performance evaluations, onboarding and orientation, and coordination of required training and compliance activities.
  • Support clinicians working toward licensure, including documentation of supervision hours and coordination with licensing boards as applicable.
  • Assist with program development, quality improvement initiatives, and coordination across school sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
