About The Position

Under the general supervision of the School-Age Child Care Director, the Enrichment Presenter is responsible for preparing and presenting engaging 45–60 minute enrichment sessions for school-age children in the Before and After School Programs. Sessions may include topics such as arts, STEM, fitness, culture, skill-based activities, or personal hobbies. The Enrichment Presenter promotes curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning by creating a safe, supportive, and fun environment aligned with YMCA values.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Adequate knowledge of the subject being presented.
• Reliable transportation to attend various SACC program locations.
• Ability to engage and manage groups of children in a fun, positive way.
• Demonstrated creativity and flexibility in lesson delivery.
• Ability to follow program policies and maintain a safe learning environment.

• Past experience teaching subject matter preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver 45–60 minute enrichment lessons or workshops by organizing instructional content and materials in advance to ensure sessions align with youth interests and program goals.
• Develop engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and activity materials by incorporating hands-on and interactive elements to ensure meaningful learning experiences for participants.
• Lead enrichment sessions by facilitating activities, discussions, and demonstrations to promote active participation, teamwork, and skill development among children.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive environment by modeling YMCA values and using supportive behavior-management strategies to ensure all participants feel welcomed and encouraged.
• Supervise and ensure the safety of all children by monitoring behavior, enforcing program rules, and responding promptly to issues to create a secure and well-managed activity space.
• Set up, organize, and clean up all materials and areas used for enrichment sessions by preparing supplies and restoring the environment afterward to ensure smooth program operations.
• Communicate effectively with childcare staff and the School-Age Child Care Director by sharing schedule updates, supply needs, and observations to ensure coordinated program support and responsiveness to student needs.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Follow all YMCA abuse prevention and risk management policies, including required trainings, mandated reporting, and monitoring of high-risk areas.
