About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Counselor for our After School Program at Sun Valley Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and fun environment, and acting as a positive role model for children aged 5-12. The ideal candidate loves working with children, brings energy and patience, encourages curiosity, and works well with teammates and families. This part-time position follows the school calendar and offers a schedule that aligns with the school day, making it suitable for parents, education majors, or retirees.

Requirements

• 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Medically cleared of any communicable diseases including TB.
• Must be warm, friendly, and upbeat.
• Exceptional people skills, professional, reliable, and prompt.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs.), and maintain active supervision while participating in children's routines and activities.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age preferred

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
