About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for our Before and After School Program at Frelinghuysen Elementary School for the 2025–2026 school year. This position is part-time and follows the school calendar, with opportunities available for morning (7:30 - 8:30 am) and/or afternoon (3:15 - 6:15 pm) programs. The role is ideal for parents seeking a schedule aligned with the school day, education majors looking for hands-on experience, or retirees wanting to stay active and mentor children. The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships, supporting student growth, and being part of a mission-driven team.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required
• Candidates must successfully pass all required state background checks.
• Requires the ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.
• The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills when working with children, families, and colleagues, along with a consistent record of reliability and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.
