School-Age Childcare Staff – Before & After School
About The Position
Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for our Before and After School Program at Lopatcong Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and fun environment, and supporting program operations. The ideal candidate loves working with children, brings energy and kindness, encourages curiosity, creativity, and confidence, works well with teammates, and communicates effectively with families. Reliability, organization, and a commitment to exceptional care are essential. This position is part-time and follows the school calendar, with opportunities available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required
- Candidates must successfully pass all required state background checks.
- Requires the ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.
- The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills when working with children, families, and colleagues, along with a consistent record of reliability and punctuality.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
- Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
- Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
- Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
