About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Franklin Elementary School in North Franklin, CT for the 2026–2027 school year. This part-time, non-exempt position follows the school calendar and offers opportunities for morning (7:00 - 8:10 am) and/or afternoon (3:00 - 6:00 pm) programs. The ideal candidate loves working with children, brings energy and patience, encourages curiosity, works well with teammates, and is reliable and organized. This role is well-suited for parents seeking a schedule aligned with the school day, education majors, or retirees looking to stay active and mentor children. Requirements

• 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
