About The Position

Columbia Academy is seeking a School Age Before & After Care Teacher to join their team. This role involves supporting classrooms, potentially including infants, and offers flexible scheduling options (split shift 7:30-9:30 or 1-6, or full day 8:30-5:30). The teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum, planning engaging activities to foster cognitive, social, and emotional development, and assessing student progress. Columbia Academy emphasizes career development and provides a supportive environment for its educators.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
Classroom Experience working with children in a classroom setting, often through student teaching or internships.
Classroom Management Skills includes proficiency in managing classroom behavior, creating a positive learning environment, and implementing discipline strategies.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to interact with parents and other staff members is required.
The ability to be patient, collaborative, creative, and passionate about Early Childhood education is essential for this role.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in schools is not strictly required; individuals from fields like customer service, healthcare, and retail may be qualified if they have a passion for working with children.
