About The Position

The Scheduling Supervisor is a working supervisor who actively participates in daily scheduling functions while providing frontline leadership to the Scheduling team. This role supports an engaged, accountable, patient-centered culture by coaching team members, promoting effective communication, resolving daily workflow concerns, and modeling Illinois Eye Center (IEC) values. The Scheduling Supervisor assists with schedule template design and management, phone system monitoring, team coverage, reporting, auditing, quality assurance, patient experience initiatives, process improvement, and follow-up on scheduling trends or concerns.

Requirements

  • Computer and practice management system experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Demonstrates a positive, trustworthy, team-first attitude and actively supports department culture.
  • Ability to lead as a working supervisor while maintaining awareness of daily workflow and staffing needs.
  • Excellent scheduling, call center, and patient service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to accuracy, follow-through, and deadlines.
  • Ability to review data, identify trends, and assist with reporting and auditing.
  • Comfortable coaching staff, giving feedback, and reinforcing accountability.
  • Serves as an ambassador for the practice and patient experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.
  • Strong scheduling and/or call center experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory, team lead, training, or coaching experience preferred.
  • Ophthalmology, optometry, or specialty medical practice experience preferred.
