About The Position

Mercy Community Healthcare is looking for an energetic, self-motivated Scheduling Specialist, with a passion for making a difference in the lives of those we serve in our community. Mercy's Mission: The mission of Mercy Community Healthcare is to reflect the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by providing excellent healthcare to ALL and support to their families. We provide care to the uninsured, underinsured and insured through pediatric and adult primary care, mental and behavioral health services, and care coordination.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication both on the phone and in person.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to meet the needs of patients.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and shorthand.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years' experience in a healthcare business office preferred.
  • Spanish-speaking highly preferred.
  • Experience with EMR operating system (eCW highly preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling patient appointments.
  • Answering multi-line phone system.
  • Managing waitlist.
  • Sending notification letters.
  • Greeting patients.
  • Entering appointments into the EMR system.
  • Making sure patients fill out necessary forms.
