This role involves receiving patient scheduling information from physician offices and electronically adjusting schedules, ensuring accuracy and appropriate time allotment for procedures. The coordinator will arrange schedules to ensure timely patient flow through the perioperative period, keep the schedule updated with add-ons and cancellations, and communicate with anesthesia regarding coverage and concerns. They will also communicate any special needs for procedures or concerns regarding patient care to management, maintain the department call schedule, and call patients prior to procedures to confirm appointments, provide directions, and give arrival times.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • 2 years Medical Office experience required.

  • Associates Degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Receives patient scheduling information from physician offices and electronically adjusts schedule, ensuring accuracy and appropriate time allotment for procedures.
  • Arranges schedules to ensure timely patient flow through perioperative period.
  • Keeps schedule updated with add-on's and cancellations.
  • Communicates with anesthesia regarding coverage and concerns.
  • Communicates any special needs for procedures, or concerns regarding patient care to manager/director or charge RN.
  • Maintains calendar and updates with physician vacations and department changes.
  • Maintains department call schedule for contact center.
  • Calls every patient prior to procedure to confirm appointment, provide directions and give patient arrival time.
