About The Position

The Scheduling Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules to meet customer demand, inventory targets, and operational goals. This role involves coordinating daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing schedules across multiple production lines and departments, ensuring the availability of raw materials, and collaborating with operations leadership to balance resources. The manager will adjust schedules based on changing demands or operational constraints, monitor inventory, lead scheduling meetings, and drive process improvements. Additionally, the role requires utilizing ERP systems, supporting on-time deliveries, ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements, and developing performance metrics. The position also involves monitoring adherence to contractual run rules and contributing to their development.

  • 5+ years of experience in production scheduling, supply chain planning, or manufacturing operations.
  • Experience in food and beverage manufacturing is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and production planning.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain short-term and long-term production schedules to support customer demand, inventory targets, and operational goals.
  • Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing schedules across multiple production lines and departments.
  • Review customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity to create efficient production plans.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure raw materials, packaging, and ingredients are available to support production schedules.
  • Work closely with Operations leadership team to balance labor, machine capacity, sanitation schedules, maintenance downtime, and production priorities.
  • Adjust schedules as needed in response to customer demand changes, inventory shortages, equipment downtime, quality issues/holds, or operational constraints.
  • Monitor inventory levels and critical materials to maintain proper stock levels.
  • Lead scheduling meetings and communicate production priorities to cross-functional teams.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Utilize current ERP systems to manage scheduling, production planning, and inventory data.
  • Work with Warehouse team to support on-time customer deliveries.
  • Ensure scheduling practices comply with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop reports and key performance metrics related to schedule attainment, inventory turns, service levels, and plant efficiency.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning and scheduling.
  • Monitor adherence to contractual run rules (e.g., minimum order quantities, SKU rationalization, run frequency).
  • Partner with Business Development and Operations to evaluate and approve exceptions to established run rules.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of run rules during new contract development and existing contract optimization.
