The Scheduling Coordinator will communicate regularly with physicians, which may include patients, ancillary and surgical areas to involve scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellation of single/multiple tests and procedures. The role requires providing accurate information of department/procedure specific scheduling criteria to expedite patient preparation, arrival location and time. The coordinator must be proactive with all customers by actively listening, showing a caring attitude and offering alternatives when necessary. Exemplary customer service with a Patient First Philosophy is expected, along with superb telephone etiquette, a team player attitude, and professional communication skills at all times. The position involves utilizing registration and scheduling systems, web-based resources, and various computer applications. A basic understanding of medical needs during the screening process for scheduling an appointment is necessary. The coordinator will consistently review schedules daily, communicate all changes to appropriate staff, and meet departmental goals for productivity, quality, and customer service standards. Maintaining a working knowledge of ICD-9 (ICD-10) and CPT codes is also part of the role. Identifying and resolving customer service issues or initiating necessary follow-up is crucial. Adherence to the Orlando Health Professional Appearance Policy and maintaining regular, punctual attendance are required. The role also involves regular communication with practices regarding scheduling matters, attending departmental meetings, and participating in process improvement initiatives, while assuming responsibility for professional growth and development.
