About The Position

The Scheduler is responsible for scheduling outpatient diagnostic procedures and obtaining accurate patient demographics, physician names, and appointment types. The role uses appropriate communication and interpersonal skills during telephone contacts and maintains working knowledge of procedures scheduled through the computer system.

Requirements

• Good telephone manners and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and enter patient appointments in the computer system.
• Verify the accuracy of patient names, diagnoses, physicians, and other appointment information, obtaining all necessary details.
• Communicate schedule changes.
• Enter cancellations in the computer system immediately.
• Attempt to reschedule appointments as needed.
• Contact scheduled patients in the event of equipment failure.
• Coordinate schedules with other departments as appropriate.
• Perform clerk/receptionist duties as needed.
