Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments for consultations, diagnostic tests, treatments, and follow-up visits.
  • Ensure accurate recording of patient information, including demographics, medical history, and insurance details.
  • Communicate appointment details to patients via phone, email, or in-person interactions.
  • Modify schedules as necessary to accommodate urgent cases, cancellations, or rescheduling requests.
  • Review orders for correctness and authorization requirements. Request new or revised orders when needed.
  • Utilize many different provider portals to verify eligibility, benefits, and pre-authorizations.
  • Optimize scheduling processes to minimize downtime and maximize resource utilization.
  • Provide clear instructions to patients regarding appointment scheduling procedures, pre-operative preparations, and post-operative care.
  • Advise patients of potential out-of-pocket costs and connect them with financial resources.
  • Address patient inquiries and concerns regarding scheduling, insurance coverage, and other administrative matters.
  • Educate patients about the importance of adhering to appointment schedules and following medical recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient appointments, procedures, surgeries, and related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) in handling patient information and medical records.
