About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Scheduler for its Intel Sector’s Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). The team specializes in Security Engineering, Computer Network Operations (CNO), Mission Software, Analytical Methods and Modeling, Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), and Cryptographic Key Management. This role is for a Scheduler/Project Manager who aims to enhance their project and schedule management skills within an Earned Value and Agile program. The mission involves large-scale complex Systems Integration and Development, requiring the management of a complex MS Project schedule with thousands of tasks. The program seeks to advance its scheduling capabilities through automation, risk management principles, and routine schedule risk assessments (SRAs). The Scheduler/Project Manager will collaborate with the Program’s Lead Scheduler to manage workload and innovate scheduling productivity. Responsibilities include working with Agile Teams and Control Account Managers to develop detailed schedules, collect status, and create visualizations for program reporting. The role involves participating in the monthly Earned Value reporting cycle to facilitate more frequent data analysis by leadership. The candidate will identify critical/driving paths and assess schedule dependencies, requiring comfort in discussing technical aspects like systems engineering, software development, testing, deployment, and sustainment. The Scheduler/Project Manager will work with technical and Earned Value leads to anticipate schedule concerns and propose solutions consistent with technical activities, viewing the schedule as an integral part of the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university and at least 8 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a Project Manager for a software development program or other related technical activity.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with MS Project as a Project Manager or Scheduler.
  • A high degree of interest in learning new approaches to scheduling and applying them in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time extremely well and quickly sense when an issue needs to be elevated, discussed, or triaged.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on task completion is critical.
  • Clearance Required: Must have TS/SCI with Polygraph on day one.

Nice To Haves

  • Program Management Professional (PMP) certification or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Experience managing or analyzing the critical path of a task network.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively to manage multiple schedules within the program environment.
  • Engage with Agile Teams and Control Account Managers to create new schedules, status existing schedules, and create visualizations of schedules for customers and leaders.
  • Help improve the schedule management process and develop automations and other innovations to increase the productivity of collection and reporting of Earned Value data.
  • Collect and input monthly status for a wide array of sub-schedules which are part of the integrated master schedule (IMS).
  • Analyze schedule results and provide leaders and team members with suggestions as to how to meet schedule constraints.
  • Analyze critical/driving paths and schedule risk assessments (SRAs).
