About The Position

The Scheduler is responsible for translating planned internal and external manufacturing demand into achievable production schedules and related purchasing plans. This role assigns demand to specific machinery and production resources to support execution of the overall production plan. The Scheduler serves as a key liaison between Sales, Production, and Inventory, ensuring alignment between customer demand, capacity, and inventory positioning in support of exceptional customer service. This position is part of the MoveUp union bargaining unit, and successful candidates will be required to become and remain a member of the MoveUp union as a condition of employment.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Operations Management or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 2-3 years of experience in a high‑volume, repetitive manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and analytical tools.
  • Experience using MRP systems and production planning tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • CPIM designation or intent to obtain it with the first 3-5 years of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Translate planned manufacturing demand into detailed, achievable production schedules and purchasing requirements.
  • Assign demand to specific machines and production resources, considering capacity, constraints, and lead times.
  • Apply inventory control principles related to production scheduling and consumable inventories.
  • Utilize MRP, scheduling, and planning tools to support accurate production and inventory planning.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to Sales inquiries related to order status, priorities, and delivery timelines.
  • Act as a liaison between Sales and Production to align customer demand with manufacturing capability.
  • Support exceptional customer service by ensuring schedules reflect committed delivery requirements.
  • Monitor production activity and track adherence to established schedules.
  • Communicate schedule variances, risks, and recovery plans to Production and relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify conflicts between demand and available capacity and escalate issues as required.
  • Support resolution options to minimize production disruptions and customer impact.
  • Effectively use scheduling, planning, and data management tools to meet departmental performance objectives.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling accuracy, data integrity, and planning processes.
  • Contribute to improved planning practices through analysis and feedback.
  • Perform other related duties of a minor nature consistent with the scope and responsibility of the role.
