About The Position

The Scanning Clerk is responsible for testing, verifying, and scanning all UPC marked items in the store on a rotation basis. This role also involves frequent price verification for direct-store delivery items, ensuring all price markings on items, shelf tags, and in-store signs are accurate and timely. The Scanning Clerk contributes to the store's profits and revenues by continually monitoring pricing for errors and ensuring immediate correction. They maintain productivity standards, adequate department records, and update price books weekly. Additionally, this position requires assisting customers with inquiries in a friendly and professional manner, being aware of product and department locations, and attending required meetings.

Requirements

Minimum age: 18 Years
Regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach.
Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand and foot coordination.
Hear and respond to customer inquiries.
Standing, walking and bending throughout the entire work day.
Ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 30 pounds from location to location.

Responsibilities

Tests, verifies and scans all UPC marked items in store on a rotation basis.
Performs frequent price verifying on direct-store delivery items.
Ensures changes for all prices marked on all items, shelf tags and in-store signs.
Ensures all in-store price markings are timely and accurate.
Maintains exact correspondence with the in-store price file.
Contributes to the profits and revenues of the store.
Continually monitors pricing for errors and ensures they are corrected immediately.
Maintains productivity standards per company guidelines.
Maintains adequate and appropriate department records at all times.
Updates price books on all price changes on a weekly basis.
Is aware of product and department locations and assists guests with their inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
Attends departmental, store and company meetings as required.
