About The Position

This role involves managing inbound and outbound truck traffic, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and providing excellent customer service. The Scale Person will handle customer inquiries, weigh trucks, prepare tickets, and maintain inventory and billing records. This position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively under pressure in a team environment.

Requirements

General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Customer service experience is a plus.
Ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.
Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Place & take phone calls from internal and external customers for product.
Weigh trucks (internal & external customers) and prepare ticket for driver.
Maintain accurate records of materials & quantity.
Enter necessary information into computer system for inventory, billing and/or time keeping purposes.
Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with customers under high stress situations.
Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material needs, scheduling conflicts, explain payment requirements.)
Monitor and discuss availability problems with co-workers and manager/supervisors.
Performs other duties assigned.
