About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for operating Dem-Con’s scale and interacting with customers. The role requires knowledge of waste acceptance, pricing, and facility operations. The Scale Operator monitors inbound and outbound traffic, weighs vehicles, issues tickets, maintains accurate records, reports transported materials, and manages manifests. The role also includes troubleshooting scale software and related technology, measuring trucks and trailers, enforcing waste acceptance policies, and balancing the cash drawer daily. The employee must comply with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience using MS Office products.
Proficiency with computers.
Ability to learn new software programs.
Ability to work some Saturdays.
High level of customer service.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while producing accurate tickets and weights.
Detail-oriented.
Professional attitude.
Punctuality.

Responsibilities

Greet and direct customers entering the facility.
Monitor inbound and outbound traffic and operate scale house functions.
Use scale systems to weigh trucks, issue tickets, maintain accurate records, and report materials being transported.
Weigh vehicles accurately using scale software.
Troubleshoot scale software and related technology.
Measure trucks and trailers.
Understand and enforce Dem-Con’s waste acceptance policies with customers entering the facility.
Print tickets and manage manifests for inbound and outbound traffic.
Balance the cash drawer daily.
Comply with company policies and procedures.
