About The Position

The Mobile Scale Clerk operates the scale for loaded trucks leaving the facility, ensuring trucks are safe and within weight restrictions and that customer tickets and inventory levels are accurate. The role also supports customer service, sales ticketing, billing documentation, cash handling, site safety administration, inventory coordination, and general office and scale-house upkeep. The position works with the Operations Manager, loader operator, customers, trucking vendors, field technicians, and site visitors. It may also provide dispatching, parts delivery, sales-office, and field-project support as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Microsoft Office applications experience required.
Valid driver's license required.
Must be drug free.
Able to lift or carry up to 20 pounds from floor to 3–5 feet occasionally.
Able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 pounds frequently.
Able to stand or walk for extended periods, with occasional sitting.
Able to climb up and down ladders occasionally.
Able to use hands, fingers, and feet to operate heavy construction machinery.
Able to travel safely while walking and while operating machinery over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
Able to see, hear, and respond to verbal, visual, and written instructions and to moving heavy construction machinery.
Able to wear required protective equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility clothing, steel-toed boots, and gloves.
Must observe company safety policies on company premises and while operating heavy construction machinery.
Able to work continually in extreme hot and cold weather and occasionally in wet, muddy, and slippery conditions.

Responsibilities

Operate the weight station scale and ticket trucks to ensure departing trucks meet safe and legal weight requirements.
Respond to customer inquiries about available products and price quotes, set up jobs in the tracking system, and generate sales tickets for customer transport.
Use Integra and Paperstream to transmit tickets to corporate daily for billing, and send hard-copy tickets to corporate at month-end.
Set up trucking vendors and enter new trucks into the computer for ticketing.
Coordinate daily with the Operations Manager and loader operator regarding material inventory information.
Receive, annotate, and process payments for COD accounts; maintain daily cash-account records and prepare the daily deposit.
Balance and handle the petty cash box daily.
Assist field technicians with bi-annual material sampling.
Ensure site visitors receive and have documented appropriate Site-Specific Safety Training, and notify appropriate site personnel when visitors arrive.
Maintain MSHA documentation files needed for inspections.
Order PPE and office supplies.
Maintain a neat and orderly work environment, including cleaning the scale house, sweeping floors, taking out trash, and cleaning restrooms.
Assist with daily dispatching.
Pick up parts, confirm parts orders, and deliver parts to sites as needed.
Fill in for sales-office functions as needed, including creating handwritten tickets, dispatching, tracking trucks, and assisting with vendor invoices.
Assist the Sales Field Tech on large projects by communicating with truck vendors and clarifying directions or coordinates, truck counts, and customer information.
Deliver tickets and supplies to open scale locations when needed and bring collected tickets to Accounts Receivable.
Exhibit a strong work ethic, take direction, and work both independently and as part of a team.

Greet and assist external callers and the public courteously and professionally.
Perform other duties as directed.
