About The Position

This role is responsible for tallying products or raw materials such as chicken parts or feathers, SPN or Blood received from suppliers or by and from farm workers, for production purposes. The Scale House Floater computes and records totals of tallied figures, examines and sorts items, and records the number and types of defects for quality control purposes. They also count a sample quantity of parts onto a ratio balance scale and compute the total number of parts, and issue receipts. This position requires the ability to work any shift and must have at least 3 months of work history with one employer within the last 2 years. The role also requires the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. A valid state driver's license is required or must be obtainable.

Requirements

Must have or be able to obtain a valid state drivers license.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Tallies products or raw materials for production purposes.
Computes and records totals of tallied figures.
Examines and sorts items.
Records number and types of defects for quality control purposes.
Counts sample quantity of parts onto ratio balance scale and computes total number of parts.
Issues receipts.
Must be able to work any shift.
Keep work area clean and free of clutter (housekeeping).
Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Using correct tool for each job assignment.
Report injury of oneself or coworker to management.
Report job hazards immediately (correct immediately when possible) and document.
Inspect all tools and materials for defects and safety issues.
Follow all safety rules and guidelines.
