About The Position

Recycle Works / Waste Connections is seeking a high-energy Scale House Attendant in Elkhart, Indiana. The role weighs trucks entering and leaving the facility, interacts with the public, handles customer payments, and performs administrative and clerical tasks that help the transfer station run smoothly. The attendant also helps ensure safe operations, appropriate use of personal protective equipment, and general upkeep of the Scale House.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good computer skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Prior cash handling experience.
• Reliability and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct customers and employees entering the transfer station.
• Weigh trucks entering and leaving the facility and calculate customer payments.
• Record scale weight information in the computer system and obtain appropriate signatures.
• Check incoming garbage loads for safety and inappropriate materials.
• Answer the phone professionally and enthusiastically.
• Perform clerical and general office duties, including filing and paperwork.
• Help ensure customers and employees conduct business safely and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Provide general upkeep of the Scale House.
• Work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate tact, discretion, and diplomacy.
