About The Position

Waste Connections is searching for a dependable and customer-focused Scale Clerk to join their team in North Wichita. This is a fast-paced position that plays a key role in daily operations by accurately weighing customers in and out, processing transactions, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with computer systems, including Excel and Waste Works.

Requirements

Previous customer service, cashiering, administrative, or scale house experience preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to remain calm and professional during busy periods.

Responsibilities

Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner.
Accurately weigh trucks and customers in and out using the scale system.
Process payments and maintain accurate transaction records.
Provide outstanding customer service while handling a high volume of traffic and inquiries.
Utilize Excel and Waste Works software to enter and maintain data.
Answer phones and assist customers with questions regarding services and fees.
Balance cash drawers and reconcile daily transactions.
Complete end-of-day closing procedures.
Ensure all cash, checks, and other forms of payment are secure, accurate, and properly accounted for.
Maintain organized records and documentation in accordance with company procedures.
Work closely with operations staff to ensure smooth daily site activities.
