About The Position

The Scale House Clerk is responsible for managing the flow of trucks and loads at the mill, ensuring accurate data entry, and maintaining communication with various departments and external parties. This role involves monitoring operations, logging information, and ensuring the cleanliness and supply of the scale house. The position operates within a 24/7 environment with 12-hour shifts and requires flexibility in scheduling, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, and speak the English language at or above high school level.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, volume, and net present value.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and 10 Key.
Regularly required to walk, talk, and hear.
Frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Occasionally required to sit.
Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

Post-secondary educational degree (2 to 4 year degree from college, university, technical school, military, vocational or other advanced educational institution) preferred.

Responsibilities

Keying all received loads into the mill for Recycling.
Communicating effectively with drivers.
Monitoring cameras to ensure docks are full and trucks are waiting.
Logging drivers/loads on the receiving log for the Mill.
Checking drivers in and filling out drop tickets for trailers.
Controlling traffic flow for inbound and outbound loads.
Communicating with the Henderson Office regarding release numbers, rejections, etc.
Radio communication with the Fiber Yard.
Notifying shipping when a driver arrives with a load of chemicals.
Maintaining scale house cleanliness and supplies.
