Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive experience across SCADA, Leak Detection, and related operational technologies, with demonstrated growth in scope, complexity, and leadership accountability.
  • Strong systems-level technical understanding of enterprise SCADA platforms (including AVEVA), data and visualization tools, pipeline and facility operations, construction and commissioning processes, PLC automation, telemetry, and industrial communications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, including advancing technical expertise, leadership capability, and industry best practices in a rapidly evolving control systems environment.
  • Proven people leadership capability, with the ability to inspire, engage, and align teams around a shared vision, high performance standards, and a strong safety and reliability culture.
  • Exceptional communication, influence, and presentation skills, enabling effective engagement with operational teams, technical experts, leaders, and external stakeholders.
  • Operational resilience and accountability, with the flexibility and judgment to support a 24/7 control environment and respond effectively to after-hours or emergent operational needs.
  • Legally able to work in the country of the position.
  • Must be able to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of SCADA analysts and engineers, fostering strong technical capability, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Own and govern the SCADA workflow process, ensuring all field projects are effectively integrated to support safe, reliable pipeline operations and the protection of the public, environment, employees, and infrastructure.
  • Set direction and enforce standards for SCADA workflow procedures, including development, revision, and consistent application across the organization.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, with clear ownership for accurate documentation, auditable processes, and adherence to internal and external requirements.
  • Drive innovation and technology strategy by evaluating and recommending SCADA software and tools that deliver measurable operational, safety, and financial benefits to Pembina.
  • Serve as a collaborative leader and integrator, working closely with SCADA, Leak Detection & Field Communications, Control Centre, Engineering, IS, Product Quality & Measurement, Automation, and Field Operations teams.
  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules”.
