About The Position

The SCADA Engineer (SER) will support large-scale offshore wind projects, playing a critical role in the design, integration, commissioning, and operation of SCADA and control systems that enable safe, reliable, and efficient renewable power generation. This position supports real-time monitoring and control of offshore and onshore electrical infrastructure, helping to ensure performance, availability, and grid compliance across complex wind energy assets. The role works closely with engineering, commissioning, operations, and vendor teams to deliver robust SCADA solutions across the project lifecycle — from detailed engineering and construction through commissioning and long-term operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • Typically 5+ years of experience supporting SCADA systems within offshore wind, renewables, power generation, or large industrial infrastructure projects.
  • Hands-on experience with SCADA platforms and industrial control systems.
  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, Modbus, OPC-UA, TCP/IP).
  • Experience supporting commissioning, testing, and operational readiness activities.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex control system environments.
  • Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams and external vendors.
  • Comfortable operating in dynamic project and operational settings.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with grid-connected assets, substations, and renewable energy systems is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, configuration, and implementation of SCADA systems for offshore wind projects, including wind turbine generators, offshore and onshore substations, and balance-of-plant systems.
  • Ensure reliable data acquisition, monitoring, and control across multiple assets and interfaces.
  • Review SCADA architectures, signal lists, I/O mappings, communication protocols, and system documentation.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning activities for SCADA, telecoms, and control systems.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of system faults during commissioning and operations.
  • Verify system performance against technical specifications, grid requirements, and project standards.
  • Provide ongoing technical support for operational SCADA systems, including performance monitoring, fault diagnostics, and system optimization.
  • Support integration of SCADA data into reporting, analytics, and asset management tools.
  • Assist with system upgrades, cybersecurity considerations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a technical interface with SCADA vendors, EPC contractors, and system integrators.
  • Review technical submittals, drawings, procedures, and as-built documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, commissioning, IT/OT, and operations.
  • Maintain accurate SCADA documentation including configurations, functional descriptions, and interface definitions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and internal governance requirements.
  • Support health, safety, and environmental requirements applicable to renewable energy and offshore operations.
