About The Position

To assist the SBA Loan Director and other SBA Lenders with medium to large portfolios that have a moderate to complex degree of difficulty in their daily duties. This includes making or assisting with customer calls, preparing memos, providing service related to existing and proposed loan requests, obtaining and/or preparing loan documents, working with outside service providers to arrange loan closings, providing high-level customer service support, and performing special projects as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.
  • A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
  • Commercial loan documentation skills including understanding of certain documents used in loan transactions.
  • Proficiency with the bank's loan processing software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
  • Must frequently move about inside the office to interact with associates or customers and access office machinery and file cabinets.
  • Must constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, photocopier, and printer.

Responsibilities

  • Assists SBA Loan Director and SBA lenders with SBA transactions including preparing packages for ABRIGO submission and underwriting on new loans and renewals.
  • Researches and prepares required CAM components per requirements for SBA 7(a) Small Loans and SBA 7(a) Large Loans.
  • Gathers and tracks necessary documentation related to underwriting package and closing preparation.
  • Meets with applicant during initial loan request discussions to assist in determining proper documentation requirements.
  • Assists and works with SBA lenders at loan closings, including working with title companies, closing attorneys, and insurance agents.
  • Assists with the closing of less complex SBA loans as may be necessary at the request of SBA lenders.
  • Calls on business clients/prospects in partnership with the SBA lenders to develop new business relationships.
  • Suggests new products and services to clients after probing for possible needs.
  • Maintains monthly SBA pricing sheet to keep current on required SBA fees and loan pricing.
  • Reviews monthly and quarterly loan compliance on transactions as well as required financial statements and reports as may be necessary per SBA loan approvals.
  • Assists with and prepares quarterly reporting on SBA loans with a split risk rating of 5 or greater on a quarterly basis as needed.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
