This role is responsible for preparing legal and credit files, SBA loan application packages, and obtaining all required signatures. The SBA Loan Closer will prepare, submit, and coordinate with the SBA for the issuance of an SBA loan number and prepare the SBA authorization. This position evaluates third-party vendor documentation such as Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and line and flood searches, and ensures timely payment of the SBA guarantee fee. The role involves reviewing articles and by-laws, partnership and LLC agreements, and verifying appropriate lease terms and insurance requirements. Additionally, the SBA Loan Closer handles DMV transactions (if applicable), verifies cash injections, and confirms eligible funding via joint payee checks on capital expenses. A key aspect of this role is recognizing and proactively resolving potential problems in the loan closing process. The position prepares documentation request forms for submittal to the documentation unit or outside Bank counsel and reviews documents upon receipt to ensure conformance with Bank and SBA approval and conditions. Coordination and scheduling of document execution with all parties, and review of executed closing documents to ensure all required signatures, notaries, and/or witness signatures are properly completed are also essential. The SBA Loan Closer prepares and coordinates loan funding with Loan Operations, and opens title and orders preliminary title reports, as appropriate. Maintaining an expense log for each loan and reconciling it with deposits received by the Bank is required. The ability to effectively supervise and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes, is crucial. Computer literacy, including fluency in Microsoft Office programs and Excel, is necessary. The role requires the ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships both internally and externally. Adherence to applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations, including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), is mandatory. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
