About The Position

Atkore is seeking a Sawyer I for the second shift, based in Pueblo, Colorado. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Sawyer I supports the winder operator and finishes fiberglass conduit in various diameters, ensuring quality, quantity, and accuracy while following Atkore’s ATIRE personal conduct protocols. The role works from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The stated base pay is $19.00 per hour, with a $1.00-per-hour shift differential. The job requires working safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and handling fiberglass conduit and related production tasks.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Good math skills for accurate counting, calculations, and measurements, including radius, inside and outside diameter, and length.
Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
Ability to adapt to changes, manage competing demands, and handle delays or unexpected events calmly and logically.
Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
Ability to be medically cleared to wear a respirator and other required personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

Two years of previous shop experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the winder operator to maximize winding equipment uptime.
Receive product from the extractor and cut ends according to specifications.
Prepare pipe samples for quality-control testing.
Perform final dimensional and visual inspections according to standards.
Maintain accurate production and quality records, including crating and labeling records.
Maintain the roving rack to support continual winding operation.
Assist with changeovers.
Affix tri-seals and retainer rings, grind spigot ends, and inspect each piece with go/no-go gauges.
Maintain housekeeping in the assigned area.
Perform other tasks assigned by management.
Follow plant safety rules and wear required personal protective equipment.
