About The Position

Wieland is hiring a Saw Operator. The Saw Operator will be responsible for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Saw Operator. The Saw Operator categories are based on skill level and complexity of machinery. Candidates will focus on machine operation and product quality while also assisting with overall warehouse operations as needed. This role is located in Texas City, TX and will be fully on-site.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail (critical skill).
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with all departments, coworkers, and management.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and fofer assistance to teammates when necessary.
  • Ability to work occasional Saturday hours as required by the position.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to read dimensioned engineering drawings.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and calipers.
  • Lift, push, pull to 50 pounds.
  • Standing, walking up to 10 hours.
  • Twisting, bending up to 10 hours.
  • Perform duties under pressure of deadlines.
  • Must be able to wear task-appropriate PPE.
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail (critical skill).
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers and management.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and offer assistance to teammates when necessary.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Understanding of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a safe organized working environment.
  • Operate machinery in a safe manner to ensure quality product.
  • Inspect material before and after operation for imperfections.
  • Load and unload product from the machinery for processing.
  • Inspect inventory and product orders for accuracy.
  • Report product discrepancies to management.
  • Actively communicate with teammates.
  • Operate forklifts to relocate material.
  • Other operation tasks as assigned.
