About The Position

Now hiring Saw Operators for a company in Akron. Weekly pay ranging between $16 - $20 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Ability to read blueprints.
• Must demonstrate regular attendance.
• Applicants must have their own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine material requirements and saw adjustments.
• Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures as indicated by scale, rule or template to secure and direct the workpiece using hand tools and measuring devices.
• Set controls to adjust speed/feed rates and blade tensions and adjust as necessary to produce the highest quality part as quickly and safely as possible.
• Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
• Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of cut part to print.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust or scale from workpiece.
• Load/unload steel trucks, checking delivered material for order accuracy.
• Maintain steel inventory in an organized manner and assist in conducting annual physical inventory.
• Assist other departments and functions as needed.
