About The Position

BlackHawk Industrial is hiring a Saw Operator to operate industrial saw equipment and cut metal stock to specified lengths and measurements. The role works to a daily production schedule, follows ISO processes and procedures, and supports a safe, clean work environment. It also involves handling and tracking raw materials, maintaining saw equipment, and completing related production duties. This position is safety sensitive and subject to drug testing, including cannabis. No direct supervisory responsibility is assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate.
• Knowledge of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, brass, and copper.
• Knowledge of trade tools, equipment, materials, calipers, tape measures, and methods and techniques used in safe bandsaw operation.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of similar experience.
• Experience using a bandsaw.

Responsibilities

• Work to a daily production schedule.
• Safely operate an automatic horizontal bandsaw, vertical bandsaw, abrasive cutoff saw, and/or cold saw.
• Cut steel, aluminum, stainless steel, brass, and copper stock to the correct length and measurements.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, shop drawings, sketches, and work orders.
• Maintain equipment and keep the work area clean and safe.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on saw equipment.
• Comply with procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Unload raw materials from semi-trucks and store the material.
• Maintain traceability for all raw materials.
• Collect and dump chip bins daily.
• Schedule scrap pickups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Perform all work according to ISO processes and procedures.
• Promote a culture of safety.
