About The Position

BlackHawk Industrial is seeking a Saw Operator to work to a daily production schedule and safely operate saw equipment to cut metal stock to specified lengths and measurements. The role involves handling raw materials, maintaining material traceability, keeping equipment and the work area clean and safe, and following ISO processes and procedures. This position is safety sensitive and subject to drug testing, including cannabis. It has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
• Knowledge of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, brass, and copper.
• Knowledge of trade tools, equipment, materials, calipers, tape measures, and methods and techniques used in safe band saw operation.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of similar experience.
• Experience using a band saw.

Responsibilities

• Work to a daily production schedule.
• Operate automatic horizontal and vertical band saws, abrasive cutoff saws, and/or cold saws safely.
• Cut steel, aluminum, stainless steel, brass, and copper stock to the correct lengths and measurements.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, shop drawings, sketches, and work orders.
• Maintain equipment and keep the work area clean and safe.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on saw equipment.
• Follow safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Unload raw materials from semi-trucks and store the material.
• Maintain traceability for all raw materials.
• Collect and dump chip bins daily.
• Schedule scrap pickups.
• Perform all work in accordance with ISO processes and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
