About The Position

The Saw Operator is responsible for reading work orders, calculating material lengths, measuring and cutting materials to specifications using a saw, and moving materials to the appropriate location. This role requires basic math skills, the ability to read a tape measure accurately, manual dexterity for operating machinery, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The position operates in a manufacturing environment and requires adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.

• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.

• Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read work order and determine the specifications needed for the material.
• Calculate the required lengths by using math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Measure material to the correct specification as indicated on the work order.
• Cut material using saw.
• Move material to appropriate location.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Provide on the job training to new employees as needed.
• Follow all safety and health policies and procedures issued by the company.
