About The Position

Avila Golf & Country Club is seeking an experienced Sauté Chef / Sauté Station Line Cook to join their culinary team. This role is ideal for a cook who thrives in a professional, fast-paced kitchen and is passionate about preparing high-quality, made-to-order cuisine for a private club membership, guests, special events, tournaments, and banquets. The position offers the chance to work alongside an experienced culinary leadership team in an environment that values quality, teamwork, consistency, and hospitality.

Requirements

  • 1–2+ years of professional hot-line or restaurant kitchen experience
  • Strong knife skills and knowledge of professional cooking techniques
  • Understanding of sauces, reductions, emulsions, and other culinary fundamentals
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality
  • Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and plating standards
  • Team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while supporting the overall kitchen team
  • Candidates must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events and club functions

Nice To Haves

  • Previous sauté station experience strongly preferred
  • Food Handler or ServSafe certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook proteins, pasta, vegetables, and specialty menu items on the sauté station
  • Use professional techniques including sautéing, pan-searing, deglazing, poaching, and braising
  • Prepare scratch-made sauces, reductions, emulsions, and gravies
  • Complete daily mise en place and station preparation
  • Perform knife work, portion ingredients, prepare garnishes, and organize your station for service
  • Follow recipes and plating standards to ensure consistency and presentation
  • Maintain proper cooking temperatures, food quality, portion control, and presentation
  • Communicate effectively with the culinary team during high-volume service
  • Assist with banquet preparation, private events, tournaments, and special club functions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, labeling, and ingredient rotation procedures
