SAT/ACT Mathematics Teacher, Upward Bound Program
About The Position
Wilkes University is seeking a part-time, temporary SAT/ACT Mathematics Teacher for its Upward Bound Program. This federally funded TRIO Program aims to support high school students in career exploration, college preparation, and higher education pursuits. The teacher will be responsible for the academic component, specifically assisting 11th-grade students in preparing for the Mathematics sections of the SAT and ACT. This involves reviewing test sections and Pre-ACT scores, reinforcing test-taking strategies, identifying areas for improvement, and teaching effective study methods. Supplemental mathematics instruction will be provided to boost students' confidence and skills for these exams.
Requirements
- Current knowledge and experience with both the SAT and ACT are required.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, and/or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with high school students or in a college-preparatory program is preferred.
Responsibilities
