About The Position

The SAP Systems Specialist is responsible for supporting production planning operations through planning system optimization, process standardization, and cross-functional coordination. This role acts as a key resource supporting SAP implementation initiatives, planning system enhancements, engineering change management, and continuous improvement activities while ensuring material availability and on-time delivery. This role will collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Customer Service, and IT teams to improve planning accuracy, data integrity, and operational efficiency across manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related discipline.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Experience working within ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Effective organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong process discipline and systems aptitude.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting ERP/SAP implementations, upgrades, or system/process improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of production planning, inventory control, material flow, and manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with master data management including Bill of Materials, routings, and planning parameters.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting capabilities.
  • ASCM CPIM certification considered an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in production planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain planning standards and actively seek opportunities for process and system improvements.
  • Support SAP implementation activities including testing, validation, data integrity, and process standardization initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Customer Service, Finance, IT, and external implementation partners to support SAP implementation activities, process alignment, data validation, end-user support, training readiness, and operational readiness initiatives.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining planning parameters including forecasts, lot sizes, reorder points, lead times, and inventory settings within SAP.
  • Reconcile ERP system data to ensure planning accuracy and inventory integrity.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and resolution of planning, material, or system-related issues.
  • Act as a subject matter resource for planning processes, material flow, and system transactions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning and material management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Wear all required PPE while in the plant.
  • Work safely and ergonomically by following Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Report unsafe acts, conditions, near misses, injuries, illnesses, or accidents immediately to supervision.
  • Inspect equipment and workplace conditions regularly.
  • Remain alert for hazards and contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Cooperate with all employees on matters relating to occupational health and safety.
