About The Position

The SAP Platforms Basis and Security Lead serves as the technical authority for Basis and Security across the enterprise SAP ecosystem. This role provides hands-on technical leadership for SAP Basis, Security, Identity & Access Governance, Cloud ALM, and platform operations, supporting transformation initiatives and ongoing business operations. The position owns governance, security, stability, compliance, and the technical roadmap for SAP S/4HANA and related SAP applications and systems. It partners with functional and development leads, AMS providers, implementation partners, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Audit, and business stakeholders to maintain a secure, scalable, and reliable SAP environment. The role is hybrid, with two weeks per month onsite in Newark, Delaware.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
15+ years of SAP technical experience.
10+ years leading SAP platform operations, architecture, security, or technical governance.
Standard driver's license.
Experience with SAP S/4HANA, BTP, Basis Administration, Security, and integration technologies.
Experience with SAP IAG, IAS, IPS, identity governance, and access controls.
Experience with SAP Cloud ALM, transport management, release management, and change control processes.
Experience supporting SOX, ITGC, audit, and compliance activities.
Experience working with AMS providers, managed services partners, and system integrators.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud environments.

Nice To Haves

SAP certifications in Basis, Security, BTP, or Architecture.
Utility industry experience.

Responsibilities

Own the technical governance and roadmap for the enterprise SAP platform.
Provide hands-on leadership across SAP S/4HANA, BTP, Basis, Security, Integration Suite, Fiori, and SAP public cloud technologies, including Service Cloud, SuccessFactors, OpenText, SSAM, and FSM.
Govern SAP security, role design, access management, segregation of duties (SoD), and identity services (IAG, IAS, and IPS).
Support SOX, IT General Controls (ITGC), internal audits, external audits, and compliance requirements.
Own SAP Cloud ALM (CALM), transport management, change control (ChaRM), release management, and deployment governance.
Oversee SAP analytics and data platforms, including BDC, Datasphere, and SAC.
Coordinate AMS vendors and support teams to resolve incidents, implement enhancements, and maintain platform stability.
Review and approve technical designs, architecture decisions, security controls, and platform changes.
Support production issue resolution, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
