The SAP Plant Maintenance Functional Consultant III executes hands-on SAP PM configuration and process design within an SAP S/4HANA on-premise environment. Working under the direction of the SAP PM Solution Architect, this consultant is responsible for day-to-day configuration of SAP EAM objects, preparation of configuration and blueprint documentation, and support of user acceptance testing and end-user training. The consultant configures maintenance processes across multiple streams, including asset-intensive equipment maintenance (e.g., vehicles, industrial equipment, generators, and mobile assets) and manufacturing or facility maintenance for production machinery.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of SAP Plant Maintenance (PM / EAM) functional configuration experience in an implementation or consulting role; or no degree with 5-7 years of relevant experience.
Hands-on configuration experience with functional locations, equipment master, task lists, maintenance strategies and plans, notifications, and work orders in SAP ECC or S/4HANA.
Demonstrated experience configuring both time-based and counter-based preventive maintenance plans including scheduling parameters.
Solid understanding of the SAP PM work order lifecycle from notification creation through technical completion and order settlement.
Experience with SAP PM-MM integration including material components on work orders, goods issue, and material reservations.
Ability to write clear and complete functional specifications and UAT test scripts.
Ability to obtain and maintain a CAC (Common Access Card); US Citizenship required.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience with SAP S/4HANA 2022 or 2023 on-premise PM configuration.
Experience in a defense contractor, government logistics, or manufacturing maintenance environment.
SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP S/4HANA Asset Management.
Experience with measuring points, counter readings, and condition-based maintenance configuration.
Familiarity with SAP Fiori apps for plant maintenance including Work Order Execution, Manage Maintenance Orders, and Maintenance Requests.

Responsibilities

Executes SAP PM configuration under the direction of the Solution Architect, including functional location hierarchy, equipment master data, classification, equipment BOMs, and technical object structures.
Configures maintenance task lists (general, equipment, and functional location) with operations, material components, production resources/tools, and inspection characteristics appropriate to each asset type.
Configures maintenance strategies, maintenance plans (time-based and counter-based), and scheduling parameters including call horizons, scheduling periods, and cycle tolerances for all asset categories.
Sets up notification types, notification status profiles, damage codes, cause codes, and activity catalogs aligned to the two maintenance streams.
Configures work order types, order status profiles, settlement rules, partner functions, and the planned and unplanned maintenance workflow from notification creation through technical completion.
Configures measuring points and counters for counter-based maintenance on manufacturing machinery, vehicles, and drone/generator assets.
Supports the MM/MRO Consultant with PM-side component configuration including material reservations and goods movement integration within maintenance work orders.
Develops functional specifications for ABAP enhancements and custom reports in collaboration with the ABAP Developer, ensuring specifications are complete and testable.
Creates and maintains configuration documentation including Business Blueprint documents, configuration workbooks, functional specifications, and UAT test scripts.
Supports user acceptance testing: develop test cases, facilitate test execution sessions, document defects, and work with the technical team to resolve issues.
Supports end-user training material development and participate in training delivery for maintenance planners and technicians.
Travels 50-75% to client sites to collaborate and consult in person and evaluate operations.
