About The Position

The SAP Middleware Developer maintains, enhances, supports, and administers SAP Process Integration (PI) interfaces and associated middleware technologies. The role supports the design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing operation of SAP integration solutions that exchange data between SAP and non-SAP systems. The developer manages technical configurations and supports development and production environments, change and configuration management processes, and coordination with application developers, functional analysts, business stakeholders, and external trading partners. The position requires troubleshooting, compliance with security requirements, participation in on-call support, and estimating development, maintenance, and operational work.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience supporting SAP PI/PO or comparable middleware platforms.
Experience developing and maintaining enterprise application integrations.
Experience supporting production environments and resolving complex technical issues.
Experience with software development lifecycle and change management processes.
Knowledge of SAP Process Integration (PI) and/or SAP Process Orchestration (PO).
Knowledge of XML, XSLT, XPath, and message transformation technologies.
Knowledge of REST and SOAP web services.
Knowledge of IDoc, RFC, Proxy, and file-based SAP integrations.
Experience with middleware monitoring and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
Experience with interface testing and debugging tools.
Knowledge of configuration and release management processes.
Interim or DoD Secret clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

Maintain, monitor, and support SAP PI middleware environments.
Perform system configuration, interface deployment, and operational support activities.
Monitor interface processing and proactively identify and resolve integration issues.
Support development and production environments.
Design, develop, modify, and enhance SAP PI interfaces and integration components.
Implement interface mappings, transformation logic, routing rules, and connectivity solutions.
Develop and maintain technical documentation for middleware solutions.
Participate in system integration, user acceptance, regression, and performance testing.
Document and execute technical change management processes.
Support release, deployment, and configuration management activities.
Ensure compliance with established development and operational standards and maintain accurate system and interface documentation.
Analyze and resolve application, interface, and data transmission issues; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate with infrastructure, database, networking, cybersecurity, and application teams to resolve production incidents.
Participate in pager and on-call support rotations as required.
Support application developers, functional business specialists, and external trading partners; coordinate services with supporting organizations and third-party vendors.
Participate in technical reviews, project planning sessions, and design discussions; communicate technical issues, risks, and recommendations to project leadership and stakeholders.
Adhere to organizational and customer security standards, policies, and procedures; support compliance, audit, accreditation, vulnerability remediation, and security review activities.
Ensure secure transmission and handling of enterprise data.
Develop estimates for software development, maintenance, enhancement, and operational support activities.
Support project planning, workload forecasting, and resource assessments; identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
