About The Position
The SAP Internship Experience Program is SAP’s global, strategic, paid internship program that provides university students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers. The team is part of the SAP Data & Analytics organization, whose mission is to help businesses transform data into actionable insights, enabling them to make smart decisions, improve operations, and drive growth. Based in Paris and working closely with various SAP development teams worldwide (Walldorf, Vancouver, Dublin, Shanghai, Bangalore, and others), our team focuses on creating analytical and operational queries from data within SAP business line applications. We manage all phases of software development, from design and implementation to operational support, quality assurance, and deployment.
Requirements
- Master's student in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Strong Python programming skills; familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript is a plus.
- Experience or coursework with ML/Deep Learning fundamentals and at least basic exposure to LLMs/transformer models.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and backend frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django).
- Experience with Git/GitHub and collaborative software development workflows.
- Basic knowledge of containers (Docker) and comfortable with Linux and cloud services.
- Interest in deploying ML systems, best practices in software engineering, and collaborative agile teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills in English and French (at least B2 level in both languages).
Nice To Haves
- Hands-on experience with Hugging Face, OpenAI, or other LLM platforms; experience in prompt engineering and evaluation.
- Familiarity with RAG approaches, vector databases (e.g., ChromaDB, Pinecone, Milvus, or FAISS), and embedding models.
- Exposure to MLOps/LLMOps tools (MLflow, BentoML), observability, and cost-conscious deployment.
- Experience with agentic frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph) or multi-tool orchestration.
- Knowledge of data engineering, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.
Responsibilities
- Prototype and implement AI components: LLM-based pipelines, RAGs, tool/agent integrations, and evaluation environments.
- Implement backend services and APIs to expose AI capabilities (FastAPI/Flask or similar).
- Develop and maintain CI/CD and MLOps pipelines to move PoCs to replicable deployments (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
- Containerize and deploy components using Docker and Kubernetes (or equivalents for local development).
- Assist in designing, running, and analyzing automated tests and evaluation metrics for model quality, hallucinations, latency, and cost.
- Collaborate with data engineers to build and maintain recovery indices, embedding pipelines, and feature stores.
- Participate in design work, sprint reviews, and cross-functional demonstrations with product, QA, and UX.
- Contribute to documentation, reproducible experiments, and internal enablement materials.
