About The Position

EY is seeking an SAP IS-U Device and Work Management Functional Manager to lead the end-to-end design and delivery of SAP IS-U Device and Work Management solutions for utility transformation programs. The manager owns the workstream, defines its functional approach, aligns SAP IS-U processes with metering and field operations, and ensures solutions support reliable utility operations. The role provides leadership from discovery and solution design through implementation, testing, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization, working with client, business, technical, vendor, and program stakeholders. The position leads functional teams and manages scope, solution decisions, delivery plans, dependencies, risks, quality, and outcomes. It also oversees integrations, documentation, testing, cutover, reconciliation, training, production readiness, support transition, and operational stabilization. The manager builds client relationships and advises on SAP IS-U capabilities, solution decisions, and transformation priorities. The role is listed as available anywhere in the country. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
Typically at least 4 to 6 years of SAP IS-U or SAP Utilities experience, including substantial hands-on experience in Device Management, Work Management, meter reading, or related utility field processes.
At least 3 years leading a functional workstream or team.
Experience owning SAP IS-U Device and Work Management solution design and delivery through implementation, testing, deployment, and stabilization.
Experience designing and delivering solutions for device lifecycle management, meter reading, service orders, field-work processes, and operational controls.
Experience integrating SAP IS-U with utility systems and capabilities such as AMI/MDMS, EDM, GIS, inventory, SAP Plant Maintenance, and mobile workforce solutions.
Experience leading requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, solution workshops, functional design, testing, defect resolution, cutover, and operational readiness.
Experience governing cross-functional integrations, testing, cutover, and operational readiness within complex utility transformation programs.
Experience leading cross-functional teams, managing dependencies and risks, and driving decisions with business and technology stakeholders.
Strong leadership, communication, planning, and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to balance business outcomes, solution quality, delivery constraints, and operational readiness.
Deep functional knowledge of SAP IS-U Device and Work Management and related utility metering and field-service processes.

Responsibilities

Own the SAP IS-U Device and Work Management workstream, including scope, target processes, solution decisions, delivery plans, quality, risks, and outcomes from discovery through deployment and post-go-live stabilization.
Define and govern functional design for device lifecycle management, meter reading, field service, work execution, and operational controls.
Lead requirements gathering, fit-gap assessments, solution workshops, and design reviews to translate utility requirements into scalable, maintainable SAP IS-U solutions.
Drive end-to-end integration across SAP IS-U and related platforms, including AMI, MDMS, EDM, GIS, inventory, SAP Plant Maintenance, and mobile workforce solutions.
Lead the design and delivery of device and field-work processes, including device lifecycle, meter reading, service orders, field execution, exception processing, and operational handoffs.
Manage cross-workstream dependencies with Billing, Customer Service, Data Conversion, and other business and technology workstreams.
Develop and oversee functional specifications, solution documentation, configuration standards, and design decisions.
Lead and coach functional consultants, coordinate technical and vendor teams, establish ownership, and resolve functional and cross-workstream issues.
Oversee end-to-end testing and defect resolution for meter-to-cash processes, field completion, device and meter-reading scenarios, exception processing, integrations, and operational handoffs.
Manage workstream scope, estimates, dependencies, risks, stakeholder decisions, and escalations, communicating options and impacts to program and business leadership.
Lead cutover, reconciliation, training, production readiness, support transition, and post-go-live stabilization activities.
Build trusted client relationships and provide functional guidance on SAP IS-U Device and Work Management capabilities, solution decisions, and transformation priorities.
