About The Position

VMG Labs is seeking an SAP FI/CO Consultant to support a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation program. This role focuses on finance process assessment, standardization, optimization, and migration from customized ECC processes to standard S/4HANA functionality, working closely with finance leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams. The engagement is for 9 months, with potential for up to 50% travel, and offers hybrid flexibility based in Washington, DC. Onboarding is approximately 2 weeks, pending required checks. This is a high-impact role offering exposure to forward-looking skills such as S/4HANA Universal Journal, New Asset Accounting, SAP Business AI, Joule, and SAP Analytics Cloud. VMG Labs is a certified SAP partner with extensive experience.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of SAP FI/CO consulting experience
  • At least 3 end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementations or transformation projects
  • Strong expertise in S/4HANA Finance, Universal Journal, New Asset Accounting, and Management Accounting
  • Experience with brownfield conversions and custom code remediation
  • Strong understanding of finance process standardization and transformation
  • Experience facilitating business and executive-level workshops
  • Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and work with ABAP developers
  • Familiarity with SAP Business AI, Joule, SAP Analytics Cloud, and intelligent automation
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Banking, financial services, or public-sector finance experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assess SAP FI/CO processes and identify opportunities to replace custom solutions with standard S/4HANA functionality
  • Lead workshops covering GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Controlling, and Treasury
  • Develop process standardization and transformation roadmaps
  • Support brownfield conversions, post-migration optimization, and custom code remediation
  • Partner with ABAP teams to evaluate custom code, user exits, BADIs, and Z-objects
  • Apply knowledge of S/4HANA Universal Journal (ACDOCA), New Asset Accounting, and simplified data models
  • Perform fit-gap analysis and develop functional specifications as needed
  • Identify opportunities for SAP AI, predictive analytics, and intelligent finance automation
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver within tight timelines
  • Provide knowledge transfer and support to internal SAP teams
